"Apparel has boundaries, but fashion is boundless." Recently, the 10th Campus Fashion Festival of the Textile and Clothing College at Shanghai University of Engineering Science officially kicked off. Zhu Junxuan, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Textile and Clothing College, and Xie Zhixia, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, as well as Zhao Tong and Liu Chaofang, officials from the Youth League, attended the event.
During the event, the College's Party Committee Secretary, Zhu Junxuan, delivered a speech and officially declared the opening of the 10th Campus Fashion Festival. She mentioned that the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has opened a new chapter in promoting the comprehensive development of the Chinese nation's great rejuvenation with Chinese-style modernization. Standing at a new starting point for striving, Chinese fashion, primarily centered on textiles and clothing, will continue to create material and spiritual wealth with new technology, new styles, new narratives, and new responsibilities. It will undoubtedly play an irreplaceable role in the process of Chinese-style modernization. Secretary Zhu also expressed that students, as the youth of the new era, are in a lively and creative phase of their lives, living in a diverse culture, and possessing qualities of openness, tolerance, self-confidence, and self-improvement, representing boundless hope and potential. For this fashion festival, she hoped that everyone could work together to create a cultural feast of "Attire in Youth" for the school, showcasing the beauty, culture, and spirit of Chengyuan and presenting the "shining points" of the Textile and Clothing College to all. This event aims to show the dazzling, innovative, and life-loving side of every member of the Engineering University community to everyone!
The atmosphere at the event was lively and spirited. Teachers and students took the opportunity to leave their signatures on the signature wall, and passersby stopped to admire and warmly participate in the event. The opening ceremony featured a variety of exciting performances, showcasing the exuberance of youth. The opening performance, "Shooting Star," was presented by the Street Dance Club, where the dancers' graceful moves reflected the spirit of fashion, and their vibrant energy displayed the positive outlook of contemporary young university students. The song medley "In the Name of Youth" was performed by the campus's top ten singers, resonating with the melodies of youth and bringing the atmosphere to a climax with their beautiful voices. The fashion show titled "Boundless Runway & Infinite Fashion" was brought to life by the 2022-level students majoring in performance. They presented a runway performance named "Boundless" showcasing the original creations of students from the Clothing and Fashion Design program. With a special runway and professional performances, they portrayed youthful charm through fashion, providing a successful conclusion to this fashion festival.
The Campus Fashion Festival is a signature event of the Textile and Clothing College and an important part of the campus culture development. Its main purpose is to encourage students to unleash their innovative spirit and showcase their unique tastes and contributions in aspects related to clothing, such as cultural heritage and design concepts. This year's fashion festival, named "Boundless & Attire in Youth," consists of five major components: a visual extravaganza, a journey through red history, adventurous exploration, a fashion sensory development program, and a professional fashion exhibition. The goal of this month-long festival is to enhance students' understanding of fashion, beyond their existing knowledge of clothing, by exposing them to cutting-edge trends and diverse, inclusive aesthetics. It aims to vividly demonstrate the boundlessness of fashion while allowing students to freely express their individual charm, enhance their sense of a healthy lifestyle, and create a positive and uplifting campus culture atmosphere.
